230-Calorie Oreo McFlurry Ninja Creami
This Oreo Ninja Creami makes a creamy, high-protein McFlurry-style pint with real Oreo pieces for just 232 calories. It’s simple to make, has 20g of protein, and costs less than $2 per pint.
Why You’ll Love This Oreo Ninja Creami
This Oreo Ninja Creami gives you the creamy texture and Oreo flavor of a McFlurry while keeping the entire pint at just 232 calories. It has 20 grams of protein without using protein powder, and the whole pint costs approximately $2 to make. Using Oreo Thins keeps the calories down while still giving you real Oreo pieces in every bite. It’s a simple recipe with easy-to-find ingredients and makes a great option when you want a high-protein, low-calorie dessert that still tastes like a treat.
Ingredients & Substitutions
This recipe uses a few simple ingredients to create a creamy base without protein powder. I use Kroger Carbmaster Fat Free Milk because it provides plenty of protein for relatively few calories and keeps the cost of the pint low. Fairlife Fat Free Ultra-Filtered Milk works as a 1:1 substitute if Carbmaster isn’t available. Monk Fruit In The Raw provides sweetness without adding calories, while vanilla extract, xanthan gum, and a small amount of salt help round out the flavor and texture. Oreo Thins give you real Oreo flavor while keeping the total calories manageable.
For the Oreos, I use four Oreo Thins total. Two are frozen with the creme removed and added using the Mix-In cycle, while the other two are crumbled on top with the creme left intact. Removing the creme from the mix-in cookies saves about 15 calories per cookie without sacrificing the Oreo pieces throughout the ice cream.
Tips for the Best Oreo Ninja Creami
For the best texture, freeze the pint for a full 24 hours on a level surface. Before spinning, let the pint sit on the counter for about 15 minutes or run the outside under hot water for about 1 minute. Spin using the Lite Ice Cream setting. If the mixture is still powdery after the first spin, add a small splash of water and Re-Spin until creamy.
When you’re ready to add the Oreos, make an off-center hole in the ice cream with a butter knife and place the two frozen, creme-free Oreo Thins inside. I find that an off-center hole incorporates the mix-ins better during the Mix-In cycle. After spinning, crumble the remaining two Oreo Thins with the creme over the top and serve immediately.
What to Do About Icy Sides
After the first spin, you may notice a thin layer of ice around the sides of the pint. Some Ninja Creami recipes recommend scraping the icy sides with a butter knife before Re-Spinning, but I prefer not to. I’ve found that scraping the ice into the center can actually make the finished Creami icier after the second spin.
Instead, I leave the icy sides alone while spinning. Once the Creami is completely finished, you can use your spoon to push any remaining icy edges toward the bottom of the pint as you eat. They’ll soften and melt into the ice cream. Another option is to eat from the creamy center first and give the outside of the pint a little more time to soften naturally.
Calories, Protein & Cost
The entire Oreo Ninja Creami pint comes in at approximately 232 calories with 20 grams of protein, including all four Oreo Thins. I calculate my recipes using the actual ingredients I test so you have a realistic starting point for both nutrition and cost.
